The weather was great, starting off Day 1 well. It wasn’t too hot and the bus ride was quite comfortable. My groupmates who were sitting at the back of the bus were very enthusiastic, they were playing games non-stop with the student helper. Seeing them, I knew that this trip would be a very fun and enjoyable one. The rest of the day went well, I bonded more with my groupmates. When it was time to set up the tent, I was lucky I had a tentmate who went camping before, as I didn’t know how to. In addition to that, we had set up our tents in the DARK! But through that, we were determined to get this job done so we can sleep well for the night. And luckily, I managed to. :P
Day 2 started off superbly. Early in the morning, we were asked to sing our National Anthem and the School Song. It’s very weird listening to my friends sing without the actual song playing. All of us sounded so tired and weak as we just woke up. The breakfast wasn’t bad, but the porridge was too bitter for me. Luckily, there was bread with jam, which is what I usually eat in the morning. Next, we started our activities. I find that the flying fox was very cool but the river crossing was even cooler. I really wanted to give up and let go of the rope when the current was too strong for me, but thanks to the encouragement of my friends, I managed to cross over with only one go. When I finished, I returned back to cheer my other friends who have not gone through the flying fox. From then on, I realized that Resilience Camp is not only to help us build our confidence, but it is to also help us in conquering our fears. After lunch, I started to come down with a fever. I didn’t manage to participate in the water confidence activities, but I hope my friends enjoyed themselves.
