0730HRS – Students unloaded their 5 days worth of luggage into the buses storage compartments. Buses move out as a convoy to Tuas Checkpoint.
Tuas Checkpoint, 1st wave of teachers proceed first to receive students coming through the immigration counters. Students took a toilet break. Accounting for all present before students load up their buses.
Arrival of students at Johor 2nd link checkpoint . …. Students transferred onto Malaysian buses for the trip up to Pahang. Slight delay due to visa applications of foreign students. Accounting for all students before convoy of buses move out towards Chong Pang – a designated breakfast and rest point. After headcount conducted, all buses then proceeded onwards to Pelangi Hotel, Segamat for lunch.
1230HRS – Advance party arrive at Pelangi Hotel(above)to check that lunch preparations all ready for students. Confirm dishes for vegetarians.
1330HRS – buses arrive at Pelangi Hotel. Hungry students streamed to the poolside buffet setup and queued up for their lunch comprising of white rice with black sauced chicken, stewed winter melon and ‘tou fu’ mixed vegetable dish plus assortments of fruits like rambutans and bananas. Extra food was ordered to cope with the amazing appetites of our Temasekians.
Shouts of Yam Sennnnngggg as students take the time to mingle and catch up with fellow Temasekians while enjoying their lunch in the hotel’s air-conditioned banquet room, a much welcome relief to the hot afternoon sun outside. With lunch over, students rested and went for toilet breaks while teachers submitted passports for checking and safekeeping. (ABOVE) THE RESILIENCE PEOPLE HAVING THEIR BIG LUNCH FEAST
1450HRS – Students loaded up their buses. Final check on belongings and attendance. Buses move off to their respective sites – Faster 1 to Pasir Sia campsite ; Faster 2 to Jeram Besu Adventure resort campsite ; Stronger to Kuala Tahan campsite; and Higher to Kota Gelanggi. Arrival time of most groups is at 1830HRS with slight delay for the Faster 2 group at Jeram Besu due to the distance.
Meanwhile, main organizing committee proceeded onto main command centre at Jerantut Town. From there, main committee spilt into two teams to check on the camping preparations and confer with guides and teachers. (ABOVE) HAVING CHICKEN CURRY DINNER BY THE BEACH
All groups are camped successfully, students had their dinner. Our Temasekians are well and excited about sleeping amongst nature, and have proceeded on for a good night's sleep. Weather here is cool and dry. All ready for the new day to come.
